Week of March 29th

Hey folks - here is the game plan for this week:

Music 8:
M-Tr All final presentations are to be completed on your scheduled date - All make up work/quizzes will be conducted as well.

Music Theory:
There will be a quiz on Wednesday - Not sure if it will be on the whole chapter, but I need to assess you on something before the marking period is over - As it looks now we will not complete the entire chapter and have time for a review but there is a chance:
M - 12 bar blue progression / blues scale pages 110-111
Tu - ear training and review
Weds - Test Chapter 17
Thurs - Make ups / corrections

Band
Great rehearsals last week - Big band is Tuesday and Thursday - We also have band during the activity period on Tuesday ONLY this week.

Spring is here! - Schedule for March 22 - March 26

Hello folks:

Hope things are going well as the third marking period winds down. This is what you can expect this week.

Music 8:
M - 5x5 writing across the curriculum assignment (Rough Draft)
Tu - Final 5x5 due, Ven-Diagram (Reading across the curriculum assignment)
Wed - Library to use computers to research for final
Tr - Library to use computers to research for final
Fri - Creating your final project

Music Theory:
M- Harmonization rules for a melody in a major key
Tu - Broken chords and arpeggiated accompaniment
Wed - Non chord tones
Thurs - Composing a major melody
Fri - Compositions

Band:
Big band on M,W,F
After school rehearsal during the activity period Tu and Thurs from 234 - 310 - Please be here!
Our concert is quickly approaching on May 12th a little over a month and a half until showtime.

Week of MARCH 2nd

Well, we are into March which hopefully means NO MORE SNOW! Here is a look at what is going to be taking place this week in your classes and hopefully we can have a week with no snow days.

Music 8:
T - Finish Beethoven Film - 5 facts
Wed - Review for Quiz on Mozart and Beethoven
Thurs - Quiz on Mozart and Beethoven
Fri - Listen to Beethoven Late Period music

Music Theory:
T - Review material learned last week (Minor triads, augmented/diminished, etc.)
Wed - Ear Training
Tr - Review in workbook
Fri - Quiz - maybe Monday depends on how review goes

Band:
Tu and Tr - Band rehearsal during AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITY PERIOD
Pit on Thurs night as usual 6-715
