Adv Theory:
M-W - Digging through Chapter 13.
Thurs - Review and Ear Training
Fri - Quiz on Chapter 13 and all homework due

Band:
Class will be on Tuesday and Thursday this week.
Wind Ensemble will meet after school on Tuesday until 5pm.
Band Booster Meeting this Tuesday at 6pm.

Band:
Candle Sales due Monday 3/16
Junior County Band Bus will depart at 5pm on Tuesday and Thursday - return will be 9th; Friday we will leave during 1st period, and Saturday we will depart at 8:15am
Music In Our Schools Month Concert - Wednesday 3/18 at 7pm!

Tuesday - Practice and Quiz on "Hound Dog" and "Goober Pea's" found in G Chord Progression Packet
Wednesday and Thursday - Begin integrating Em into our chord progressions.
Friday - Quiz on 2nd half of G Progression Packet and Free Play

Advanced Theory:
Monday - Review Major, Minor, Augmented and Diminished Triads
Tuesday - Page 75 and 76 in book + worksheet
Wednesday - Quiz on Triad Identification
Thursday - pg 77 in book / dominant 7th chords
Friday - Pg. 78 ear training and page 79 review for Quiz on Monday 3/16


Band:

Tuesday - Class - we will begin looking at two new pieces. Ticheli's Four Shaker Songs and Daugherty's Alligator Alley. Wind Ensemble after school until 5 - Louvre I and III, Khan, Undertow and the Bach.
Wednesday - Hockey game in the evening *Field Trip* - no performance. Departing school at 5:30pm - Return will be roughly 10:30pm
Thursday - Class - Movement of the Ticheli, Movement of the Tudor, and Colonial Song

Wed 9/17 - Competition Rehearsal 5-8pm
Thur 9/18 - OFF
Friday 9/19 - WBRE MORNING PEP-RALLY. Report to school for 4:30AM. Rally is from 5-7AM live on TV. After school - rehearsal 3-5pm. Game @7 home vs Marian.
Saturday 9/20 - Competition @Williams Valley. More info forthcoming.

Week One!

Hello Folks.

My name is Matt Tenaglia, and I am the director of instrumental music at North Schuylkill. In addition to directing the band program and lessons, I will be teaching music theory, guitar and advanced music theory this year. At this blog, you will find pertinent information regarding all classroom activities and homework. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at mtenaglia@northschuylkill.net.

Guitar:
M - Welcome Back / Distribution of Syllabus
Tu - Begin Learning Rhythmic Notation
Wed - Continue with Rhythmic Notation
Thur - Continue with Rhythm, Begin learning Treble Clef
Fri - Continue with Rhythm and Treble Clef


Music Theory:
M - Welcome Back / Distribution of Syllabus
Tu - Begin working on Chapter 1 pg. 3/4
Wed - Page 4 and 5 - Treble and Bass Clef
Thur - Page 6 and 7 - Grand Staff and Ledger Lines
Fri - Review all material learned with notation


Band:
Tu and Thurs - Have instrument ready to play. We will begin working on Football show music.
There will be after school rehearsal on Tuesday from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.
Thursday evening is "Meet the Spartans" - please be in the band room by 5:45pm - the show starts at 7:00pm and will be done by 8:00pm.
Friday is our first game - students will stay after school and rehearse until we depart for Shenandoah. Departure will be announced this week.

Hello Everyone:

Here is the plan of attack for this week.

Music Theory:
Mon: Review for Final Exam
Tue: Review for Final
Wed: Final Exam
- For remaining week, we will be doing some sight-singing.

Guitar:
Mon: Review for Final Exam
Tue: Period 5 Final Exam / Period 1 Review
Wed: Period 1 Exam

- For the remainder of week, the underclassmen will perform songs from ultimate guitar for grades

Band:
- Rehearsal on Tue and Weds after school until 4:30
- Drum Major Auditions, Memorial Day Parade Rehearsal, and Graduation Rehearsal

It is important that you are at both of these rehearsals.
